Here are the steps to create a signing link that can be shared through own email or text message:
Add a new document and on the Who is signing? screen, choose Others Remotely.
Select Get Signing Link to create a link that you can share with one or more signers for joint signing:
Your signing link is ready to send. The following options will be available:
- Share: Share your signing link through several different apps on your phone.
- Email: Send your signing link through your default email program. A new email will populate and you'll be bale to add in the email address that you would like to send to.
- Copy: Copy the link to your clipboard so you can paste it in another app.
- Remove: Delete the signing link so it will be unavailable to new signers.
Highlight where to sign (optional)
If you're on the Business Plan, you can select Add Signing Fields to highlight where the other user should add text and signatures (optional). With or without signing fields, your signer can tap or click anywhere in the document to add text or signatures.
Note: If you want to use signing fields with two or more remote signers, we recommend the Invite By Email feature, which lets you assign fields to each named signer.
Signing Options
- Require authentication by signers: This option requires that the signer authenticate by verifying their email address before signing your document. Email verification is done through an email link from JetSign, Google login, or Facebook login. If you disable this option, you will be responsible for authenticating the signer.
- Require email address when signing: By default, JetSign requires the user to enter their email as part of the signing process to help identify the signer as part of the audit trail for your document. If you disable this option, the email prompt will be optional for your signer and they may be marked as a "Guest" (no email) in the document's audit trail.
- Add instructions for signers: You can add your own simple instructions to show signers when they visit your signing link. (optional)
- Additional Options: You can select View, sign, audit trail, and more... to visit the Manage Signing screen (also available from the dashboard). Manage Signing lets you view the progress (audit trail) of your document, sign the document, download a copy, and mark the document as complete. Marking the document complete will prevent new signers from accessing your document.
